I don't mind driving. I just don't like driving somewhere when I am not completely sure of the route. Of course, I have a satnav. But because I had been to this holiday park before, I thought, I still remember the way. I didn't.
First, I turned off too early and ended up in an emergency stopping area beside the motorway. A little later, I missed another turn. Instead of turning around, I carried on and added fifteen minutes to my journey. The detour took me past a beautiful place, but also to a steep junction where I could hardly see to the left or the right. My hands were sweating.
After that, I watched the satnav very carefully.
When I finally reached the holiday park, it tried to send me to my cottage from the outside, where there was no entrance. So I had to drive around once more.
At last, I found the cottage. I sat down on the wooden bench and said, “Thank You, Lord. I made it safely... even though I had made the route much more complicated than it needed to be.”
---This photo was taken a few hours later by my husband and I am looking up at the swallows catching little flies.

Thankful to know that the Lord got you out of this mess, Aritha. I hate the feeling of being lost, too. And sometimes, we can make things a lot more complicated than they need to be. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteOh my, how frustrating. Glad you finally made it safely to your destination, even though it was by a more complicated way.
ReplyDeleteBeen there! Even with map apps, they send you off like a medieval explorer sometimes! Not even they know how to get there sometimes because they don’t take into account road changes, entrances and urban restructuring. Apartment complexes are the worst. “Ok, it’s somewhere around here. Let’s play ‘guess which building.’ 😁 Best case scenario it says ‘you have arrived’ when you’re on the back side of the building or on the opposite side of a 4-lane thoroughfare and it’s like a maze trying to get to the entrance. 🤦🏻♀️
ReplyDeleteBless it. I have had experiences like this in the middle of a mountain range and lost gps signal. NERVOUS and SWEATING was extreme for me. LOL!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you made it safely! Just like our life in general the path or route can cause us to feel quite uncomfortable and discombobulated at times. I am glad we are in His hands.
